Significant Accomplishments

Lead the design, development, deployment and validation of a complete manufacturing test infrastructure to support the high volume (500k/month) offshore manufacture of a leading complex consumer electronics product.  Recruited, staffed and lead the multi-disciplined effort leveraging local and off-shore resources; managed equipment budgets of > $45M expensed through direct procurement, design services and assembly outsourcing.  Launched production with first pass yields (FPY) in excess of 95%.

Assigned the RFP response for my mid-sized consultancy employer’s largest potential program in company history; Authored, pitched and won a beefed-up proposal that was quadruple the original responsibility, scope and dollar amount; Charged with the program execution, final delivery and integration; Lead and directed the efforts of over 100 managers and multi-disciplined local, off-shore and outsourced technical staff on the multi-million, multi-faceted program.  Delivered initial working prototype hardware on new silicon in less than 6 weeks.  Delivered the effort working with Sales, Business Development, Practice Area Managers, Legal and Executive staff while juggling scope changes throughout the program.

Charged with management of all company software and hardware product development efforts leveraging a technical staff of over 35 embedded and application software engineers, systems engineers and testers; grew department staffing by over 60% in 9 months to accommodate a rapidly increasing project workload; managed the work activity on over 10 concurrent client (embedded) development and sustaining projects, 5 internal development initiatives, and constantly supported new proposal activities to expand our customer/client base.

Directed the design and implementation of a fully automated operating system build transfer and install/deployment process improving test turnaround time by over 800%.

Reduced missile system program costs by over $1M and release schedule by 6 months by challenging test assumptions and eliminating needless testing. Successfully proposed changes to the program’s DoD oversight committee.

Re-engineered test fixture documentation process reducing turnaround time of drafted drawings from days to hours while meeting FDA guidelines for documentation.
